As you all know, we the 68s love a good place to eat and drink around Oakland and we wanted to share that with all of you. From dive bars to date nights, or brunch to lake nights. We have it all cover! We will be sharing our top spots on our blog posts.
Here are our top three for the week of August 18th-23rd:
Restuarants: 1. Nido's Backyard - Oakland's very own margarita garden! Located at the edge of Jack London Square, you’ll follow a rainbow serape into an outdoor oasis known as the Bay Area’s first margarita garden. NIDO’s BackYard focuses on seasonal Mexican cuisine along with a curated list of agave spirits and cocktails.

Restuarants: 2. Hyphy Burger - This new West Oakland burger spot will make your mouth water. Also, burgers don't slap! They SMACK!!! So come on out and support this hyphy location burger spot while listening to some Keak or Mac Dre, and put a little hyphyness to your life.

What you all have been waiting for... our top three Bars for the week(end)!
Pub/Bars: 1. Merchants Saloon - This dive bar is what legends are made of! Smack in the middle of the historic warehouse/produce district in Jack London, this right bare right here is a true first date type of place, because if they don't like this place you have to leave that person. They don't deserve you! You have to see it to believe it.
Pub/Bars: 2. 2101 Club - We are keeping it classy with another neighborhood feel good bar. This one in the dimond district. This cozy establishment has been a staple for many years! Whether you want a classy drink like a 7 and 7 or a craft beer like Miller light. They have it! This place is where you take your future partner to and get married here. You will love it!
Pub/Bars: 3. Oeste - Owned by three women of color, Oeste opened in Old Oakland at the end of 2017. They purchased an abandoned storefront, originally built in 1921, that once housed business such as a uniform supply store, a bail bonds company and a barbershop to name a few. The two-year buildout completely transformed the space, combining the storefronts and adding a roof deck for dining, which gave the old brick building a new purpose in what is now home to Oeste bar & kitchen.
The Oeste team is a family, both literally and figuratively. We are made up of siblings, cousins, aunt, niece, mother and son, and long-standing friendships.
