Top 3 to eat and our top 3 to drink at.

Updated: Aug 7

As you all know, we the 68s love a good place to eat and drink around Oakland and we wanted to share that with all of you. From dive bars to date nights, or brunch to lake nights. We have it all cover! We will be sharing our top spots on our blog posts.

Here are our top three for the week of August 4th-10th:

Restuarants: 1. Alamar - Bravo TV’s Top Chef Nelson German (Season 18) opens his latest restaurant alaMar Dominican Kitchen to represent his Dominican Republic lineage by offering an authentic regional food menu paying tribute to his roots. A NYC-style Dominican restaurant now open in Uptown Oakland... Read more here.

  1. Guadalajara - NOT the restaurant but the taco truck parked outside. We don't know why, but it just tastes different. Although do step inside the restaurant for a nice ice cold beverage. 1001 Fruitvale Ave, Oakland, CA 94601

  2. Bombera - Amazing food and good community vibes. Whether date night or group of friends, Bombera can satisfy. Read more here.

What you all have been waiting for... our top three Bars for the week(end)!

  1. First and Last Chance Saloon - This historical place is a national landmark at least in california. Once the hangout of Jack London, and one of the oldest bars in the country. In the big quake of 1906 it sustained serious damage and you will find it as soon as you step in this place. A must visit when in Oakland especially in a summer day. Learn more here.

  2. Original Pattern - We are staying in Jack London, and this time with one of the best breweries in Oakland. Take a visit as you will find this place to have great vibes and easy beer drinking. Learn more here.

  3. Sandbar - Come and enjoy a time in the sand... literally, this place has all the island vibes. With one of their signature drinks, the gorilla milk slushy will make you feel like you are chilling by the beach. Located in downtown Oakland, we truly recommend trying this place. 2418 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612
